Anna Lou Jarboe Harry E. Jones Married 8/2/1969 Anna Lou was born in St Paul, Kansas in the Bell Homestead. She graduated from Holy Rosary High School in 1922 . This was the first class graduated from the full four-year course in the school. The seven members of the senior class were: Aleen McFarland, Anna Lou Jarboe, Anna Lou Montgomery, Lee Pierceall, Jr., Russell Elliott, Lambert Kendrick and James T. Mudd. She studied to become an Ursuline Nun but quit the convent before finishing her mission. For many years she was a school teacher in Missouri. Anna Lou was a teacher in Anaconda Montana in 1924 and spent two years teaching there. She met Harry Jones while teaching in Montana and was friends with his sister Hattie. Anna Lou returned to Monroe City and Harry subsequently married and raised four sons. One year, his wife Helen got lost in a winter blizzard in the mountains of Montana. They found her car and body the next spring. Anna Lou found out about Harry's loss and wrote to share her condolences. Thus began a correspondence that led to their marriage in 1969. For her wedding dress, Anna Lou wore the wedding dress of her grandmother Maria Louise Saunders who married John Thomas Bell September 19, 1865. Anna Lou was 65 years old at the time of her first and only marriage. Her wedding dress was 104 years old. Anna Lou and Harry have enjoyed over 30 years of a happy marriage. William D. Ludwig officiated at the double ring ceremony and nuptial Mass. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Jarboe of Monroe City.
